How much does it cost to use the SRF tool?

The Self-review Framework in pdf format will remain free to schools. However, in order to continue to manage, host and develop the Framework, and the online tool, Naace makes an annual subscription charge to access and use the online tool. You can purchase a one year subscription direct from Naace for 50 ex VAT. Multi-year subscriptions are available from some NaaceMark Service Providers. Each provider's offering differs and some provide access within their support bundles.

How do I know if my school is registered on the site?

If you are a school in England or Wales, then trying to register a new account on the site using your school's DfE URN (Unique Reference Number) will tell you if your school is registered. If the school is registered, you will not be able to create an account but will be told who acts as the SCHOOL ADMIN user in your school. This person can create an account for you. If you do not recognise the name of this person, for example they might have left the school, you should contact the Naace office by telephone 0870 240 0480 during office hours.

Schools in Scotland and Northern Ireland should telephone Naace on the number shown.

The site says that my account has expired. What do I do?

All accounts expire if you have not renewed your subscription to the tool. On 15th September 2012 charging was introduced on the site and all accounts automatically required Schools and other users to re-subscribe. This can be done using the School's Admin account. All other accounts are updated once the school has renewed.

What happens to my data if I fail to renew my account?

Holding your data indefinitely without your express permission is in contravention of current legislation and certainly incurs Naace with costs. If you fail to renew within 30 days of your account expiring we will archive your account for a limited period, and, on logging in, provide you with options to either re-instate your account from the archive for a fee (in addition to renewing your subscription), or delete your account (including all data associated it). Should your account be dormant for several months it is automatically deleted and any data cannot be recovered. You will need to set up a new account in these circumstances.

I am not in a school and would like access to the SRF. How do I apply?

Other organisations and individuals

Organisations and individuals requiring new accounts should ring us on 0870 240 0480. Immediate access can only be granted using a credit or debt card. If you require a credit invoice, then your account will be activated when payment is made. We encourage any organisation or individual supporting schools using the SRF to become accredited under the Naace Mark for Service Providers scheme. Details of the benefits can be found here and includes a SRF account with unique features to help you support schools.

Naace Mark Service Providers

Once you become accredited as a NMSP, then an account will be set up for you, or your present account will be upgraded and last the term of your accreditation. Please phone 0870 240 0480 if you have any queries.

Naace Members and ICT Mark Assessors

Naace members receive an individual account as part of their membership. These accounts cannot be used to apply for the ICT Mark and are intended for demonstration purposes. If you are a school with Naace members, you still need to purchase a school SRF account to participate in the scheme. ICT Mark Assessor accounts provide additional features to support their work in assessing schools.

Can I use my Naace Member account on behalf of a school?

No. Accounts provided to current Naace Members as part of their annual subscription do not have the necessary features to enable a school to effectively take part in the Self-review process and eventually apply for the ICT Mark nor can data entered into a Member's account be transferred to a School account. Schools are advised to purchase a full school account.

What's happened to the Becta Self-review Framework site?

In April 2012, the Department for Education transferred all responsibility for the Self-review Framework to Naace. This website replaces the old Becta Self-review Framework site which is no longer available. Before this transition took place, schools who had accounts on the Becta site were contacted to request permission for their data to be moved to this site so that they could continue using this valuable service.

My school did not give permission for its data to be transferred from the Becta site. Can I give permission now and transfer the data to the new tool?

Unfortunately transfer of data from the old Becta tool is a service we can no longer provide.

My old username and password on the Becta Self-review Framework site does not work on this one. How do I login to the site?

For security purposes, usernames and passwords were not transferred from the old Becta site, and new ones were issued to PRIMARY users if you gave us permission to do so.

If you believe your school's data has been transferred to this site, use the Forgotten Login button and enter the email address of the PRIMARY user. The PRIMARY user will be emailed the relevant username and password.

NOTE: Only PRIMARY USER logins were transferred from the Becta tool. These become SCHOOL ADMIN users on this tool. SCHOOL ADMIN users can set up additional users within the new tool.

I have another question which is not listed here, who can help?

Please use the 'Contact us' form in the tab above or telephone our helpline on 0115 7484363 with your query and we will do our best to help you. You can also find further information at www.naace.co.uk/ictmark/srf.
